Southern Arc Appoints Hamish Campbell as Director and Andrew Rowe as Executive Vice President
June 8, 2012 – Vancouver, BC – Southern Arc Minerals (TSX-V: SA, OTCQX: SOACF) (“Southern Arc” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Hamish J Campbell to its Board of Directors and the promotion of Andrew J Rowe to the position of Executive Vice President.

Hamish Campbell has headed Southern Arc’s exploration programs in Indonesia since inception of the Company as Vice President, Exploration and then Executive Vice President, and played an integral role in building Southern Arc’s portfolio and exploration team. Hamish has the highest reputation within the Indonesian mineral exploration community, with over 27 years of international mineral exploration experience including 24 years in Indonesia. He speaks Indonesian fluently and has held senior exploration positions for several companies including Southern Arc. Hamish has established and managed local and foreign-owned mining service companies, designed and implemented exploration programs and directed detailed evaluations and assessments of joint venture and acquisition opportunities. As a Director, Hamish will continue to oversee Southern Arc’s development strategy and business interests as the Company’s senior in-country representative.
Andrew Rowe, formerly Chief Geologist, has been promoted to the position of Executive Vice President with the responsibility of planning and managing Southern Arc’s day-to-day operations and exploration programs in Indonesia. Andrew Rowe is a geologist with 20 years of experience in mineral exploration and project management in Australia and various countries in Southeast Asia including Thailand, Indonesia, Mongolia, China and Laos. During this time he held exploration positions with Renison Goldfields, Queensland Mines, Normandy Anglo Asia, Phelps Dodge, Aurora Gold and Ivanhoe Mines. Before joining Southern Arc in May 2006, Andrew was the principal geologist for Pan Australian Resources Ltd (Laos) and part of the management team responsible for successfully bringing the Phu Kham Cu-Au porphyry deposit through to bankable feasibility.
