Southern Arc Intersects A Wide Interval Of Bonanza Gold Grades From Its Phase 2 Drilling Of Pelangan Prospect, West Lombok, Including 17.4m @ 19.4g/T Au & 28.3g/T Ag From 78.8m
Vancouver, B.C.: Southern Arc Minerals Inc. (TSX Venture: SA) is pleased to announce assay results from holes PLD007 and PLD009 as a continuation of Phase 2 drilling at Pelangan, West Lombok. These results confirm the presence of wide zones of high-grade gold+/-silver mineralisation, indicative of significant ‘bonanza shoot’ development within the Central Raja Mineralised Structural Breccia (“MSB”) lode.
Highlight intersections are described below. All intervals are reported as downhole lengths.
Drill hole PLD007 returned a broad high grade mineralised interval with:
PLD007
Including
Including
39.7m @ 9.4g/t Au & 15.7g/t Ag from 78.8m
(17.4m @ 19.4g/t Au & 28.3g/t Ag from 78.8m)
(6.15m @ 37.7g/t Au & 26g/t Ag from 88.1m)
As well as a second interval of:
PLD007 0.75m @ 22.1g/t Au & 15.4g/t Ag from 127.7m
PLD007 was drilled on a section 105 metres NW along the structure from previously reported drill holes PLD001 (4.85m @ 7.11g/t Au & 18.5g/t Ag), PLD002 (17.25m @ 5.73g/t Au & 11.7g/t Ag) and PLD003 (16.55m @ 5.5g/t Au & 3.7g/t Ag).
PLD007 intersected mineralisation over 100 metres vertically below surface. Its substantial width highlights the potential for high-grade “blow outs” or swells within ore shoots in the MSB structures. These have potential to host significant high-grade tonnage.
Drill hole PLD009, located 80 metres SE of PLD007 and at a slightly lower elevation, reported an intersection of:
PLD009 8.2m @ 4.4g/t Au & 2.7g/t Ag from 217.3m
Including 4.3m @ 7.5g/t Au & 3.9g/t Ag from 217.3m
According to Chief Geologist, Andrew Rowe, “These results confirm continuity of mineralization along the structure, and at depth, and illustrate the pinch and swell geometry typical of this style of epithermal mineralization. Our current program will test for potential extensions within this high- grade Central Raja lode zone. We will also be looking for similar features elsewhere along the Raja target vein.”
Over the next 18 months, the company’s 25,000 metre drilling program will seek the same bonanza-type features throughout the Pelangan and Mencanggah prospects on the West Lombok property. Together, these two prospects host a strike length already proven at greater than 20 km in similar epithermal mineralisation (MSBs).
Figure 1 shows the geology of the Raja target and locations of the drill holes already completed. Drill hole locations, azimuths, dips and depths are summarised in Table 1 and a long-section projection of drill hole mineralised intervals is presented in Figure 2.
