Vancouver, BC – Southern Arc Minerals (TSX-V: SA) (“S outhern Arc” or the “Co mpany”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Rhylin Bailie as V ice President, Communications & Inv estor Relatio s.

Ms. Bailie br ings a diverse skill set an d nearly 16 y ears of mining experience to her position with Sout hern Arc. Most recently, she was D irector Communications & Investor elations for NovaGold R esources, a TSX and NYSE-AMEX listed prec ious metals company with a $ 2.2 billion market c ap. Ms. Bailie joined the investor relations team at NovaGold in 2006 and assume full responsibility for NovaGold’s nvestor relations and communications program in early 2010. Before j oining Nova Gold, Ms. B ailie held various positions in the Treasury gro up at Placer Dome from 1 995 to 2006. Ms. Bailie has also work ed as a freelance editor and writer for 10 years, editing mostly academic t extbooks an providing i vestor relati ons consulting and writing services to smaller re source compa nies.

Ms. Bailie is a graduate of University of Waterloo, Ontario, wh ere she completed a Bachelor of Environmental Studies degr ee with a doub le major in R esource Stud ies and Biology and a mi nor in Engli sh. Ms. Bailie used her environmental background to introduce a number of initiatives a t NovaGold, including a head office health and safety progr m and comp rehensive sustainability reporting. Sh e is a Board member of t he Canadian Investor Relations Institute, British Columbia Chapter.

Southern Arc has agreed to pay $84 000 to J. Proust & Asso ciates Inc. (“JPA”), a co mpany cont rolled by

Southern Arc’s CEO, i consideration for JPA providing				Ms. Bailie’s investor relations and corporate
communications advice to Southern		Arc. The Co mpany has		granted 200, 000 stock options to Ms. Bailie,
exercisable	t $1.71 per share. The	stock options	vest over 2	4 months,	with 25% to vest on the 6-month
anniversary	f the date of grant and 25% every 6 m		nths thereafter.
Southern Arc also reports that Mr. Robert Vidoni is leaving				Southern	A rc to pursu e other oppo rtunities.
