Southern Arc Announces Director Appointment
Southern Arc Minerals Inc. (TSX Venture: SA, the "Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. David M. R. Stone, MBA, P.Eng. to its Board of Directors.
Dr. Stone is a mining engineer with over 25 years of consulting experience in the metal mining industry. His principal expertise is in mining rock mechanics, where he has provided designs and operational advice for both open pit and underground operations worldwide. He has also authored a number of pre-feasibility and feasibility studies based on his broad knowledge of current underground mining methods, capital and operating costs and project development requirements. Dr. Stone currently serves as the US representative on the International Minefill Council, and is past Chairman of the 7th International Symposia on Mining with Backfill, held in Seattle, Washington in September of 2001. Dr. Stone received a B.Ap.Sc. in Geological Engineering from the University of British Columbia, a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Queens University and an Executive MBA at Queens University. Dr. Stone is a licensed professional engineer in a number of US and Canadian jurisdictions, and is an active member of CIM, SME, NWMA and PDAC. Dr. Stone is a Director of Formation Capital Corporation, a TSX listed company (since May 2002). He is also president, CEO and a director of Boss Power Corp. (since September 2007); a director of ATW Ventures Corp. (since December 2007), and a director of Skeena Resources Limited (since July 2008); all TSX Venture Exchange listed companies.
In connection with his appointment to the Board, Dr. Stone was granted 250,000 stock options exercisable at $0.30 for a term of five years.

The Company announces the resignation of Mr. Doug Leishman as director of the Company. The Company should like to thank Mr. Leishman for his contribution to the Board and wish him well in his future endeavours.
